Patients seeking the Best Scoliosis and Spine Treatment Come from Celina, TX, to See Our Doctors in Dallas, Plano, and Frisco, TX

Celina sits just north of Prosper in Collin and Denton counties. Of our three offices, Frisco is the closest to Celina residents. The drive runs roughly 25 to 30 minutes south via Preston Road (TX-289) or the Dallas North Tollway. For a town now widely recognized as the fastest-growing city in America, that’s a short trip for true subspecialty spine care.

Recent Census data confirms what Celina locals already know. Specifically, the city posted 24.6% population growth between 2024 and 2025 and now sits at roughly 64,427 residents. By comparison, Celina counted just 16,739 residents at the 2020 census. As young families pour into Light Farms, Mustang Lakes, Sutton Fields, and other master-planned communities, demand for pediatric and adult spine specialists keeps rising.

Expert Spine Care, A Short Drive from Celina, TX

Most Celina patients head south on Preston Road or the Dallas North Tollway to reach our Frisco office. From central Celina near the downtown square, the route is direct. Free patient parking is available on-site.

Residents on the eastern side of Celina, closer to Anna or McKinney, sometimes find our Plano office comparable. We’re happy to recommend the best location for your situation when you call to schedule.

Notably, the Dallas North Tollway now reaches into Celina itself, which has shortened the commute compared to just a few years ago.

Pediatric Scoliosis Care for Celina Families

Celina ISD, like most Texas school districts, conducts routine scoliosis screenings in middle school. Every year, several Celina-area screenings come back with a referral for further evaluation. Naturally, parents wonder what to do next.

If your child’s school screening flags a possible curve, you don’t need to wait and see. A proper evaluation by a fellowship-trained pediatric scoliosis specialist tells you within one visit whether the curve needs monitoring, bracing, or more active treatment. Most pediatric scoliosis can be treated successfully without surgery — but catching it early matters.

Dr. Richard A. Hostin and Dr. Shyam Kishan lead our pediatric scoliosis program. Together, they have evaluated thousands of children, from infants with congenital scoliosis to teenagers with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Many of our pediatric patients come from Celina, Prosper, Pilot Point, and the surrounding northern Collin County communities.

Celina takes its athletics seriously. The Bobcats football program ranks among the most decorated in Texas history. Specifically, the team won its 9th state championship in December 2024, placing Celina behind only Aledo and Carthage for all-time UIL titles. Meanwhile, the Celina girls soccer team just claimed its fifth straight state championship — a record in Texas high school history. With that level of competitive athletics, parents often spot posture changes during practices, games, or strength training. Whichever sport your child plays, the evaluation process is the same. The goal is also the same: catch curvature early, treat it conservatively when possible, and protect long-term spine health.

Why Celina Patients Travel for Spine Care

Celina recently gained its first hospital. Methodist Celina Medical Center opened on March 17, 2025. Importantly, it ended what local officials had called an “emergency care desert.” That facility serves the community well for emergency care, general surgery, orthopedics, and cardiology.

However, what Celina doesn’t have — and what most fast-growing boomtowns don’t have — is a fellowship-trained scoliosis and complex spine practice.

The distinction matters more than it sounds. General orthopedic surgeons handle fractures, joint replacements, and routine back conditions extremely well. By contrast, severe spinal curvature, failed prior spine surgery, and pediatric spinal deformity are separate specialties. They require additional fellowship training that fewer than a hundred surgeons in the United States hold. All five of our surgeons hold it.

For Celina residents, the practical effect is simple. Specifically, a 25-to-30-minute drive south replaces months of searching for the right specialist.

A Pattern We See in Adults from a Boomtown

Celina’s growth tells us something about who we’ll meet in the exam room. Many adult Celina patients are recent transplants. Often, they moved here for the space, the schools, and the new construction. Some came from other parts of DFW. Others arrived from out of state or from older parts of Collin County.

Sometimes, the back pain showed up right after the move itself. Common culprits include moving boxes, unpacking, and a longer commute on aging discs. Other times, the patient is a longtime Celina resident in their fifties or sixties who has lived with a moderate scoliosis curve since adolescence. Now the curve has progressed, and pain is interfering with work and sleep.

By the time these patients reach us, they’ve usually tried a chiropractor, a pain clinic, and a general orthopedist. They come looking for someone who can tell them what’s actually happening to their spine and what to do about it.

Adult scoliosis and degenerative spine conditions are treatable at any age. The first step is always an accurate diagnosis and an honest conversation about your options.
